It's tough, but accepting that you can't control how the other person thinks or acts can make things easier. Focus on your own words and actions instead. Stay patient and determined to move forward. 

When your ex gets angry or says mean things, it's normal to feel upset or defensive. Notice these feelings and accept them. Take a moment to calm down. Remember, their behavior reflects their own struggles, not your worth. Instead of reacting, try to bring the conversation back to what really matters.
